Patty Sue Decker, 77, Linn, passed away peacefully Monday, Sept. 11, 2023, surrounded by her loving family at Capital Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
She was born Dec. 20, 1945, to the late Treffic and Hilma (Davis) Adams in Dillard.
She was united in marriage to Melvin Decker February of 1986, in Linn.
Patty was employed as a cook for most of her life in the Linn Community until she retired from the Linn School District.
She was a member of Linn First Church.
Patty enjoyed singing country music, crocheting and she was a collector of rooster, hens and chicks figurines. She was the glue that held the family together. Patty was known for taking care of everyone before herself and making sure you felt better by making you laugh. Spending time with her family was the most important part of her life.
Patty was preceded in death by parents, Treffic and Hilma; daughter, Connie Decker; brother, Roger Adams; and sisters, Mary Wilson, Mary Burton Rowena and Roberta Clayton.
She is survived by husband of 57 years, Melvin; children, Jerry Gamblin and wife Tammy of Linn, Penny Johnston and husband Sam of Wayland, Mich., Gordon Gamblin and wife Yvonne of New Braunfeld, Texas, Bobby Gamblin and wife Carol of Horn Lake, Miss., Debbie Neuner and husband Mike of Linn and Veronica Decker of Cuba; grandchildren, Jerry Gamblin, II., Danica Poston, Elizabeth Gamblin, Darren Gamblin, Hunter Gamblin, Jeremiah Gamblin, Joshua Gamblin, Samuel Johnston, Steven Gamblin, Brittiny Gamblin, Jessica Clark, Melissa Huckabee, Kassidy Gamblin, Dustin Rawlings, Angel Rawlings and Terry Gingerich; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild on the way; brothers, Arnold Adams of Arnold and Gordan Adams of St. Clair; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 16, at Linn First with a Memorial Service to follow at 11 a.m., with Pastor Matt Lee officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Old Dillard Cemetery in Dillard.
Memorial contributions suggested to the American Alzheimer’s Association.
