Paul Clement Wilding, 53, of Greenwood, passed away Monday, March 18, 2024, at Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Evansville, Ind.

He was born June 14, 1970, the son of John Paul and Anna Mae (Niekamp) Wilding in Florissant.

He was the husband of Mary A. (Harman) Wilding. They were united in marriage Aug. 8, 1998, in Lee’s Summit.

Paul was self-employed as a mechanical engineer in the metal fabrication business. He started his own company, Wilding Engineering over 20 years ago. He was a member of the Holy Spirit Catholic Church and Presentation Catholic Church, both in Lee’s Summit. He was very involved with the Boy Scouts of America his whole life. He also coached his sons baseball teams and was involved with the archery program at Presentation Church.

He was preceded in death by grandparents, Clem and Dorothy Wilding and Ray and Anna Niekamp; and father and mother-in-law, Pete and Betty Harman.

Paul is survived by parents, John and Anna Mae Wilding of Hermann; wife, Mary Wilding of Greenwood; son, Alex Wilding of Greenwood; brothers, Joseph Wilding of Castle Rock, Colo., Andrew Wilding and wife Allison of Vienna, Austria, and Matthew Wilding and wife Carissa  of Lee’s Summit; sister, Susan Chorley and husband Brian of Hermann; by aunts and uncles, Mary Agnes Wilding and husband Edwin McPherson, Mary Esther Kremer, Evelyn Niekamp, David Harman and wife Kathy, Robert Harman and wife Katy, and Rev. Father Peter Harman; nieces and nephews, Emily Wilding, Anna Wilding, Abigail Wilding, Lizzie, Eric, Ethan and Evan Chorley, Kelly Kelsey and Sara Fishcer; and great nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held Friday, March 22, at St. George Church, Hermann, with Rev. Father Peter Harman and Father Philip Niekamp officiating.

Burial will be at St. George Cemetery. Memorials may be given to Holy Spirit Summer Lunch Program or Care Beyond the Boulevard.
