Capital Paving has installed new asphalt through last Friday on Highway 28 from Route EE to west of the Canaan community and was starting Monday on a 13-mile stretch of Route EE to F in northern Crawford County. Work on Highway 28 will resume sometime later this month with evening work scheduled for the stretch inside the city limits from the Highway 19 North junction back to EE. The entire project includes resurfacing 28 from U.S. 50 outside Rosebud to U.S. 63 at Vichy. Work was delayed slightly Thursday morning after the firm’s asphalt hopper became stuck where it was parked overnight at Canaan and required a tow out of the mud.
