Randolph Joseph “Randy” Unnerstall was born June 21, 1957 in Washington, Mo., to Kenneth and Betty (nee’ Grus) Unnerstall. He passed away at his home on Wednesday, April 26, 2023, at the age of 65 years.

He grew up in Gerald, and attended Holy Family Catholic Grade School. He graduated from Owensville High School in 1975. After high school, Randy began his career at Bull Moose Tube in Gerald. He enjoyed a successful career with the company for 28 years. He later worked for Parker Hannifin in Washington, until he retired in 2022.

Randy was united in marriage to Rhonda Turnham, Oct. 5, 1996, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church. The couple made their home in Clover Bottom. With their union, Randy was blessed with two step-daughters and five step-grandchildren.

Randy was a member of St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Clover Bottom, Knights of Columbus Seisl Council 1121 in Washington, and a member of Moose Lodge No. 1745 in Union. Randy enjoyed bowling, deer and rabbit hunting, and watching sports games on TV — especially the St. Louis Cardinals, Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Blues.

Randy was preceded in death by parents, Kenny and Betty Unnerstall; parents-in-law, Gary and Margaret Turnham; and brothers-in-law, Jerry Carey and Eugene Cowell.

He is survived by beloved wife of nearly 27 years, Rhonda Unnerstall; step-daughters, Brandi Puente and husband Alfred of Beaumont, Texas, and Amber Priest and husband Michael of Vidor, Texas; step-grandchildren, Kira, Paul, and Isabel Puente, Crystal and Andrew Priest; brother, Bob Unnerstall and wife Terry of Gerald; sisters, Debbie Winters and husband Dennis of New Haven, Cheryl Uffmann and husband Bob of Washington, Pam Fisher and husband Roger of Columbia, and Lisa Carey of New Haven; aunts, Joyce Unnerstall of Washington and Patty Pollard and husband Sherm of Phoenix, Ariz.; uncles, Les Unnerstall and wife Brooksie of Washington, Gerry Grus and wife Rosalie of Manchester, and Don Vaughn of Ellisville; along with aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, and other relatives and many dear friends.

A funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, May 5, at 10 a.m. at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Clover Bottom with Rev. Carl Scheble officiating. Interment will be held privately. A Celebration of Life will follow in the parish hall. Memorial donations may be made to Franklin County Humane Society. The Unnerstall family is served by Oltmann Funeral Home in Washington.
