KANSAS CITY, Mo., — The Missouri Bar Association recognized The
Gasconade County Republican on Friday as one of three recipients of its
2008 Excellence in Legal Journalism Award.
Reporter Linda Trest and Managing Editor Dave Marner accepted the award presented to The Republican’s staff for breaking the Bill A. Jakob story this spring. A commentary piece by retired Managing Editor Bob McKee was included in the entry. An awards dinner was held at the Westin Crown Center in downtown Kansas City.
