Richard Daniel Staley, 82, Owensville, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2022, at Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan.
He was born Jan. 20, 1939, to Richard Lee and Mildred (Eckenfels) Staley in St. Louis.
He was united in marriage to Wanda Vanderver March 1, 1962, in Potosi.
Richard had served his country with the U.S. Navy. He was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Union. He enjoyed collecting and assembling model cars and trucks and going to car shows, especially antique cars.
He was preceded in death by parents Richard and Mildred; wife Wanda; and brother Donald Staley.
He is survived by daughters Terry Wood of Owensville, Anna Rebhan and husband Jeff of St. Louis, Rhonda Falloon of St. Clair, Kellie Sullentrup and husband James of Union, and Lynda Staley of Owensville; brother Ronald Staley and wife Carol of Valley Park; sister Rosa Lee Wille of St. Clair; and 20 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 29, from 9-11 a.m. at Gottenstroeter Chapel, Owensville.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Richard Hinson officiating. Burial will be in Owensville City with full military honors.
Memorials requested to American Cancer Society.
