Robert Ray Fleer, 81, of Gerald, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2024 at New Haven Care Center, New Haven.
He was born May 10, 1942, to Edwin and Emma (Brautigam) Fleer in Gerald.
He united in marriage to Carol Haeffner, Nov. 13, 1965, at St. John’s Evangelical Church, Swiss.
Bob served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. James Evangelical Church, Stony Hill. He was a farmer and also worked for Chrysler for six years.
He was preceded in death by parents, Edwin and Emma; and brothers, Merlin and Dennis Fleer.
He is survived by wife, Carol of Gerald; daughters, Rebecca Hart and husband Steve, and Sandra Kay Fleer all of Gerald; son, Daniel Fleer and wife Tricia of New Haven; sisters, Marion Hoffmann of Jefferson, Iowa, and Doris Lukin of Webster Groves; sisters-in-law, Sharon Meyer and husband Bobby of New Haven, and Shirley Finke and husband Roy of Rochester, Minn.; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and three great step-grandchildren.
Private graveside services will be held at St. James Evangelical Cemetery, Stony Hill. Memorials may be given to the cemetery or New Haven Care Center.
