Still over a month away, several area youngsters managed to punch their ticket to the upcoming Missouri State Fair following the children’s pedal tractor pull Friday night held as part of the Fourth of July festivities put on by the Owensville Volunteer Fire Department at Memorial Park.

Youngsters ages four through 10 were able qualify for the Missouri State Fair Pedal Pull by finishing among the top three boys or top three girls in their respective age divisions.

Among four-year-old boys, the top three finishers were Brayden Blaue, Kade Koelling and Alexander Dwyer.

Finishing in the top three overall among five-year-olds were Drake Schlottach, Lucas Hart and Clara Baxter.

Joining Baxter among the top three girls were Sadie Raithel and Bre Daniels.

Pulling their way to Sedalia as the top three six-year-old boys were Eben Kottwitz, Kolton Koelling and Lane Johnson.

With only three pullers in the seven-year-old division, all three qualified for the state pull with Brooklyn Blaue, Lian Brenner and Chestyn Basham finishing first, second and third respectively.

Seven pullers competed among the eight-year-old division.

Making up the overall top three were Eli Wax in first place, Jase Greunke in second place and Bryli Blaue in third place.

Bella Daniels and Paisley Hempelmann also finished among the top three girls among eight-year-olds.

Seven youngsters also competed in the nine-year-old age group at Memorial Park.

Making up the overall top three was Korbyn Kottwitz in first place, Ella Homeyer in second place and Kennedy Reams in third place.

Joining Kottwitz in the top three among nine-year-old boys was Whyatt Souders and Liam Kramme.

Rounding out the pull in the 10-year-old division were also seven more kids.

Will Brune took first place followed by Zaylie Gromer in second place and Finnan Clancy in third place.

Sophia Dwyer and Austin Duncan also finished among the top three boys and girls among 10-year-olds to earn spots at the Missouri State Fair Pedal Pull in Sedalia on Sunday, Aug. 21.

Area youngsters will have two more chances to qualify for state at two more sanctioned pedal tractor pulls throughout the month of July.

The first will be on Sunday, July 17 during the 60th Annual Gasconade County Threshers Association Steam Engine and Threshing Show in addition to a pull during the 75th Gasconade County Fair during the third day of festivities on Friday, July 29.

Rosebud’s pull will begin at 3 p.m., while the other pull in Owensville will start at 6 p.m.
