Shirley Jean Gooch, 82, Owensville, passed away Tuesday, June 2, 2020, at her residence.
She was born Dec. 28, 1937, to Charles Edward and Ruth Estelle (Roe) Carnahan, in Poplar Bluff.
She was united in marriage to James W. Gooch, Dec. 28, 1954, at Hernando, Miss.
Shirley was a member of First Baptist Church and the Order of the Eastern Star.
She was preceded in death by parents, Charles and Ruth; brothers, Charles E. Carnahan Jr. and William Carnahan; sister, Mary Risby; brothers-in-law, Calvin Carter and Lloyd Risby; and sisters-in-law, Rosalie Carnahan and Lorraine Carnahan.
She is survived by husband, James, of the home; children, Denise Struemph and husband Al of Umatilla, Fla., Tina Kramme-Maciejewski and husband Allen of Owensville, Kevin Gooch and wife Sherry of Owensville and Tim Gooch and wife Sherry of Branson West; sister, Marcia Carter of Florissant; brother, Wendall Carnahan and wife Betty of Aurora, Colo.; 16 grandchildren and 32 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 6, at Gottenstroeter Chapel in Owensville with Rev. Kevin Sullivan officiating. Burial was in Owensville City Cemetery.
