Some wrong — some right

To the Editor:

Once again the Democrat Club has choose to blindly follow the lead of Nancy and Chuck instead of addressing the issues most people are concerned about. At least this time they put real names on it.

Liz Cheney is on a vendetta against Trump, he insulted and disparaged her father, a national hero who deserved respect. Trump was wrong. She is out to destroy him and put aside the conservative views of her father to do it.

The challenge to election results has a long history in this country.

At every meeting of the Electoral College at least one member of the opposition will rise up to challenge some delegates. Once the ballot has entered the ballot box and counted it is almost impossible to detect fraud.

Voter fraud happens before the vote goes into the box.

It’s easy to say the ballot count was right. Claims of stolen elections are common. Hilary Clinton still believes the 2016 election was stolen and Al Gore thinks he was cheated.

The abortion problem has been turned over to the states and is deemed not a constitutional issue. State legislators will determine what is criminal just as they determine what is first-degree murder, etc.

Social Security and Medicare are both in trouble and need to be addressed in a bipartisan way, neither party wants to take responsibility if changes could be seen as hurting someone. Both were supposed to be types of insurance programs where they were paid for by payroll deductions.

If you live longer you get a benefit, if you die young you don’t need the benefit. That’s why it’s called insurance.

I’m afraid it’s headed toward being just another line item on the federal budget to be paid for by borrowed money which we in effect borrow for our kids to pay back.

One thing the Democrats got right is that no one should vote “D” or “R” because that’s what you have always done. Sometimes it’s a family thing “my grandpa was a…and so am I.

Or it could be “that’s the way my union told me to vote.”

Or it could be “I’ll get a bigger welfare check” and there are so many other wrong reasons.

Be educated on the issues before you vote.
