With the Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Cross Country Championships now in the rear-view mirror, fall sports in Owensville have come to a close for another year.

Dutchgirl sophomore Ilene Limberg secured her second state medal in as many years with an 18th-place finish in the Class 3 Girls Race.

All-State honors go to those runners who finish in the top 25 of their respective races.

Dutchmen junior Felix Guerrero also represented the orange and black in the Class 3 boys race.

He placed 55th and will look to improve on that mark during his senior season of Owensville High School cross country next fall.

Nathan Cabot’s Owensville Dutchmen football team saw their bid for a second consecutive district title come to an end Friday night following a 36-7 loss on the road to Sullivan’s Eagles in the MSHSAA Class 3, District 4 semifinals.

This marked the final high school football game for Dutchmen seniors Charlie Whelan, Gabe Soest, Austin Long, Bryce Payne, Derrick Marquez, Chance Clevenger, Hunter Boyer, Trey Johnson and JJ Brown.

In similar fashion, Jamie Ridenhour’s Owensville Dutchgirl volleyball team saw their season end at the hands of Sullivan’s Lady Eagles in the district semifinals.

Sullivan went on to win the MSHSAA Class 3, District 9 Tournament before being eliminated in sectional play by Eldon’s Lady Mustangs.

Eldon went on to place fourth in the state in MSHSAA Class 3 volleyball over the weekend at the Show-Me Center in Cape Girardeau.

Hannah Koppelmann’s Owensville Dutchgirl softball team also saw their season end with a first-round loss to Sullivan’s Lady Eagles in the Class 3, District 9 Tournament.

Fatima’s Lady Comets wound up claiming the district title defeating Blair Oaks who ended Sullivan’s season in the district semifinals.

Fatima ultimately went on to claim a state title in MSHSAA Class 3 softball with a classic 16-14 extra-inning win over Bowling Green.
