Theodore Koelling

Theodore “Ted” A. Koelling, 75, Hermann, passed away Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at his farm.

He was born Aug. 31, 1944, to George and Nora (Tripplet) Koelling, in Hermann.

He was united in marriage to Lois M. (Mueller) Koelling for 54 years beginning July 10, 1965.

Ted worked for H.O.M.E. in Hermann for about 30 years until his retirement. He was a former member of the Owensville Fire Department.

Ted was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed spending time with his family, being active on the family farm as well as collecting Indian artifacts. He also enjoyed teaching his children and grandchildren everything he knew. He could almost build anything needed, and could take almost nothing and make something out of it.

He was preceded in death by parents, George and Nora; son, Lee Koelling; brother, Carl Koelling and wife Donna; father and mother-in-law, Elmer and Florence Mueller; and brother-in-law, Vernon Bickmeyer.

He is survived by wife, Lois, of the home; daughters, Lisa Schlemper and husband Dale of Linn and Sandy Krimmel and husband Shawn of Hermann; son, Scott Koelling and wife Shelby of Owensville; sister, Shirley Bickmeyer of Hermann; and grandchildren, Tyler Krimmel, Becky Schlemper, Dalton Krimmel, Sierra Koelling, Callie Koelling, Kara Krimmel and Preston Koelling.

Private graveside services were at Zion Cemetery, Bay. A memorial visitation and service will be held at a later date. Memorials may be given to families choice.
