Thoughts, questions on school funding

Posted

Was just reading today’s copy of Gasconade County Republican both on Gasconade County R-1 and R-2 schools finances and have some thoughts and questions.

Way back as Missouri entered into LOTTO Gaming, there was to be taxes, by ballot initiative approval, against Lotto to be applied as a offset portion against State Property or Real Estate taxes, that seems to have not ever flowered.

Next up was Ballot Based River Boat floating gambling, that eventually balloted on Land Based Casino gambling and we were yet again sold that same Bill of Goods, that the Tax Moneys would be used to OFFSET Taxes up PPT and RET.

Seemingly that has escaped most of our political body’s minds so are yet again given SAME Bill of Goods as to ONLINE Gambling.

If NONE of these have Flowered to provide moneys to schools and we are to continue paying these school taxes and paying while voting on school bond issues to pay for programs and finances, how is it ANY to ALL of these not on Ballot initiatives for REMOVAL from our State, based on lack of appropriate values to perform as spoke for?

Should that be valid as to financing schools, why is it the taxes not ever REDUCED?, that the taxation escalates nearly every year to boot?, that somehow these collected dollars are either misappropriated to General Fund and used elsewhere OR the school systems are Padding the Statements to gain EXTRA Funds in some Monument Construction Program(s) to play with ever larger budgets?

Which if not ALL these are the real problem here?
