Throughout the upcoming weekend and early next week, there will be plenty of volleyball tournament action throughout the area for Owensville’s Dutchgirls and Hermann’s Lady Bearcats.
On Saturday, Owensville will compete in the Union freshman and junior varsity volleyball tournaments while Hermann will also be in the Union freshman tournament.
Tournament volleyball will then focus next week on Hermann High School and the 71st Annual Hermann Invitational Volleyball Tournament.
Teams playing on Monday, Sept. 28 in pool A include Pacific’s Lady Indians, Washington’s Lady Blue Jays, New Haven’s Lady Shamrocks and St. James’ Lady Tigers.
Pool B teams playing on Tuesday, Sept. 29 include the host Hermann Lady Bearcats, St. Francis Borgia Lady Knights, Owensville Dutchgirls and St. Louis Panthers.
Pool action on Monday will start at 4 p.m., with a Highway 100 showdown between Washington and New Haven followed at 5 p.m., by Pacific taking on St. James.
Continuing with pool A action at 6 p.m., will be St. James facing Washington and Pacific taking on New Haven at 7 p.m.
Capping Pool A action Monday night will be New Haven and St. James taking each other on at 8 p.m., in addition to another Highway 100 showdown between Washington and Pacific at 9 p.m.
Tuesday pool action will begin at 4 p.m., with a Highway 19 and Gasconade County showdown between Hermann and Owensville followed at 5 p.m., by Borgia and the St. Louis Panthers.
Hermann will then face the St. Louis Panthers at 6 p.m., followed by Borgia and Owensville squaring off at 7 p.m.
Owensville will then end their portion of pool play Tuesday at 8 p.m., against the St. Louis Panthers followed at 9 p.m., by Hermann facing Borgia in another Highway 100 match up.
Teams in the top three of their respective pools will advance to bracket play on Thursday, Oct. 1 beginning at 4 p.m., with the consolation match between the third-place teams in each pool.
Semifinal action will start at 5 p.m., with the winner in pool A facing the second-place team in pool B.
That will be followed at 6 p.m., by the pool B winner taking on the second-place team in pool A prior to the third-place (7 p.m.,) and championship (8 p.m.,) matches later that evening.
