Sirens in Gerald Sunday afternoon drew many people’s attention. The Missouri Highway Patrol came through town in pursuit of a vehicle.
The Gerald Police attempted to assist by laying down tire deflation devices to disable the vehicle, according to Chief Jim Helton. Unfortunately, the man being chased managed to avoid the spikes.
Eventually, Matthew A. Gills, 49, of Rosebud was arrested in Franklin County. He was charged with resisting arrest by flight, driving while suspended, possession of a controlled substance (methamphetamines - 13 grams) and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gills was transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Facility where he was placed on a 24-hour hold.
