Trudi Joan Brune, 55, Meta, passed away Tuesday, May 23, 2023, at her home.
She was born Aug. 16, 1967, to Margaret (Heckman) and the late Hubert Brune in Jefferson City.
She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta.
Trudi graduated from Fatima High School in 1988 with her sister, Ruthie.
After high school she went to work at Capital Projects for almost 34 years, where she met new friends and made the money she loved to spend on lottery tickets.
Trudi was one of the original residents at John Stratman Apartments in Linn where she loved her independent living, but also loved going home to visit her mom on the weekends.
Trudi loved her family and always wanted to be just like her many brothers and sisters. Anyone who knew her, knew she also loved Scooby Doo, word search puzzles, bowling, fried chicken and Mountain Dew. Trudi had a carefree spirit most of us would like to have.
She was preceded in death by father, Hubert.
Trudi is survived by loving mother, Margaret, siblings, Carol Luecke and husband Ambrose, Mary Luecke and husband Kenny and Lisa Luecke and husband Leon, all of Folk, Dave Brune and wife Eileen of Meta, Rick Brune and wife Peggy of Rich Fountain, Lauri Luebbering and husband Mark of St. Thomas, Steve Brune and wife Karla and Ruthie Eichholz and husband Todd, all of Westphalia, Gina Thoenen and husband Kevin of Loose Creek and Bryan Brune and wife Kristi of Freeburg; 34 nieces and nephews, 38 great-nieces and great-nephews with two on the way; and numerous family and friends.
Funeral services were held Friday, May 26, at St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Meta with Fr. Leonard Mukiibi officiating. Interment was in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
