Letter To The Editor:
We are encouraging all registered voters to cast their vote in the April 7th election on the Gasconade County R-2 Bond proposal “Proposition GCR2.”
We encourage every registered voter living in the Gasconade County R-2 School District to go to the dutchmen.us website and review the information on Prop GCR2. The District has done an excellent job of describing and explaining what is in the Proposition and how it will be funded.
Each registered voter should review this information, ask questions if needed, and cast their vote accordingly.
As in all elections, a high voter turnout provides a much clearer outcome of the community’s opinion.
As the parents of two Gasconade County R-2 graduates, the grandparents of two current R-2 students, retired educators of the R-2 District and 47-year residents in the R-2 District we are voting yes.
We believe the District has done their due diligence involving constituents and committees to assist with identifying current issues and future needs. We believe the Board of Education and Administration have developed a plan to address those issues and needs with the approval of Prop GCR2.
Schools are the heart of every community. We believe that strong schools create strong communities. We believe our yes votes are an investment in the students and community. We believe it is our responsibility to support the current and future students with quality educational programs, great facilities, and safest learning environment possible, the same as former and current taxpayers did for our children.
