Donald L. Springer Sr., 98, Hermann, passed away Monday, May 25, 2026 at his home.
He was born on March 11, 1928, to the late Joseph and Mamie (Malson) Springer in West Alton.
He was united in marriage to Angela M. (Springman) Springer on April 23, 1949, at St. Peter & Paul’s Catholic Church in Alton, Ill.
Donald was preceded in death by wife, Angela; parents, Joseph and Mamie; and daughter, Mary Joan Poole.
He is survived by daughters, Janet Neustadt and husband Melvin of West Alton, Jeanne Theissen and husband Chris of Hermann and Mary Jane Leonhard and husband Mark of St. Charles; sons, Don Springer, Jr. and wife Janet of Jerseyville, Ill. and John Springer and spouse Craig Hoffman of Wentzville; 15 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; brothers, Karl Springer of Brighton, Ill. and Bob Springer of West Alton; and sister, Janice Samples of Brighton, Ill.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 12, followed by a Memorial Mass at St. George Church in Hermann, with Father Philip Niekamp officiating. Interment will be in St. George Cemetery.
