Playing two Four Rivers Conference (FRC) softball games in Gasconade County last week, Hannah Koppelmann’s Owensville Dutchgirl softball team looked to get into the FRC win column after falling 16-2 at home against Pacific back on Thursday, Sept. 10
Traveling to Hermann last Tuesday against the host Lady Bearcats, Owensville used an 8-run second inning to help propel them to a 16-0 victory in three innings.
Kabren Kelley earned the complete-game win allowing no runs on two hits and three walks to go with three strikeouts.
Jayde Weirich and Shae Abernathy both had two hits in the game with fellow Dutchgirls Ryan Miller, Cameron Ryerson, Halle Thompson, Lainey Moss and Rylee Dare each also having a hit.
Ryan Miller scored a team-high three runs for the Dutchgirls while the trio of Ryerson, Abernathy and Thompson also scored two runs apiece.
Crossing the plate once for the Dutchgirls against Hermann were Hannah Keeney, Dallas Miller, Josey Williamson, Moss and Dare.
Abernathy also drove in a team-high two runs for the orange and black.
Two nights later last Thursday, Owensville hosted Union’s Lady Wildcats at OHS Field in another FRC showdown.
Trailing 3-0 after one inning, Owensville scored all 10 of their runs over the next four innings helping them to a 10-5 victory while outhitting the Lady Wildcats 15-10.
Dare had a team-high three hits for the Dutchgirls while Ryan Miller, Keeney and Moss each had two hits apiece.
Thompson also had a home run in the game for the Dutchgirls against Union.
Saturday in a pair of games against Pacific and Vienna at home, Owensville had to go to the international tiebreaker in both games.
Falling 6-5 against Pacific, Owensville bounced back in their second game Saturday against Vienna posting a 6-5 win.
