William “Bill” Delano Brauks, 90, of Gerald,  passed away Thursday, Aug. 24, 2023, at his daughter’s residence in Wildwood.

Bill was born Aug. 11, 1933, to Chester and Eleanor (Boston) Brauks in St. Louis.

He was united in marriage to Rosalie Marie Neuner, June 30, 1956, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Owensville.

Bill worked as an auto worker for 38 years at Ford Motor Company in Hazelwood, from 1952–90. He served his country in the U.S. Army, 70th Transportation Company in Ludwigsburg, Germany from 1953–55. He attended Gerald Elementary and Union High School. Bill was a member of VFW Post 6133 Owensville.

Bill attended many sporting events his children were involved in and loved spending time with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed classic rock music, fishing, hunting, traveling, playing the lottery, watching the St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. One of his favorite pastimes was a game of horseshoes with beer and barbecue.

He was preceded in death by parents, Chester and Eleanor; brother, Dennis Brauks; and son-in-law, Greg Eble.

Bill is survived by wife, Rosalie; sons, Craig Brauks and wife Kim of Mission Viejo, Calif., Gary Brauks and wife Tina of Rosebud, and Scott Brauks and wife Carol of Round Rock, Texas; daughter, Michelle Eble of Wildwood; grandchildren, Ashley Brauks of Mission Viejo. Calif., Megan Cordova and husband Chris of Trabuco Canyon, Calif., Zach Brauks and wife Erin of Rosebud, Angie Brauks of St. Pete Beach, Fla., Erick Brauks of Taylor, Texas, Melissa Brauks and Adam Brauks both of Austin, Texas, and Madison Eble of Wildwood; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Sunday, Sept. 3, 2023, 11 a.m.–1:30 p.m. at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home Chapel in Owensville.

Funeral services will follow at 1:30 p.m. at the chapel with Rev. Ronnie Koppelmann, Jr. officiating. He will be buried with full military honors at Immaculate Conception Catholic Cemetery in Owensville.

Memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
