To the Editor,
While Missouri families are being told to “stretch” their SNAP benefits and hospitals are canceling home care for seniors, President Trump is focused on building a $300 million ballroom at the White House. Yes, really — a ballroom.
He’s demolishing the East Wing to make room for it, calling it his “favorite place,” while working families across the country face hunger, rising utility bills, and shuttered programs due to the shutdown he helped create. It’s a “let them eat cake” distraction from the very real crises unfolding in rural Missouri. We need a government that prioritizes care over a billionaire buyout, and working people over marble floors.
Missourians deserve better than being told to tighten their belts while billionaires dance in ballrooms built on our tax dollars.
