Five people were injured Monday evening when a motorist from Warsaw, Mo., crossed over the centerline on U.S. 50 west of Route C and struck a Rosebud man’s car head-on in Franklin County.

The crash occurred at 8:20 p.m., according to the report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol of the Dec. 1 incident. The Warsaw man, 42, was driving a 2001 Lincoln Town Car east on U.S. 50 when the crash took place. A 2009 Chevrolet Cobalt driven by a 31-year-old Rosebud man was occupied by three passengers — none of whom were wearing seat belts. All those involved were transported by Gerald Area Ambulance District personnel for treatment at Mercy Washington. They included a 19-year-old female with minor injuries, a 30-year-old Rosebud woman with serious injuries, a 31-year-old Rosebud man with moderate injuries, and the Cobalt’s driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, with serious injuries. The 19-year-old’s hometown was unknown, according to the MSHP report.

The Town Car’s driver was wearing a seat belt. He was transported to Mercy Washington by Union ambulance for treatment of moderate injuries. Patriot Towing removed both vehicles from the scene. Both vehicles had “total” listed for damages.

The MSHP also reported a crash at 6:59 p.m. Monday in Franklin County which injured an Owensville woman, 26, who was driving a 2004 Chevrolet Blazer “too fast for the snowy/icy conditions.”

The crash occurred on Route O near St. Mary’s Road as the woman was traveling west. The vehicle went off the road and overturned. She was transported by private conveyance to Mercy Washington for treatment of minor injuries. She was wearing a seat belt. The vehicle was secured roadside, according to the MSHP.
