The Gasconade Extension Center has kicked off a new community garden, featuring two raised beds and nine containers full of fresh produce and area 4-H club members constructed the .
This garden will support local health by supplying ingredients for community cooking programs and offering free produce for residents to use in their own meals, according to officials with the Gasconade County University Extension office in Owensville.
Harvest updates will be shared on the Gasconade Extension Facebook page, and produce will be available for pickup at a garden stand built by local 4-H members from the Bay and Swiss communities. Follow along at @MU Extension in Gasconade County to see what’s growing this summer.
This project was made possible through the MU Extension, a Community Services Block Grant and the Missouri Department of Health and Human Services. Explore more gardens across Missouri at https://allthingsmissouri.org/eating-from-the-garden/.
