Jared Brown has been charged with the class D felony of possession of a controlled substance following an encounter with the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO) Feb. 26.

According to the probable cause statement, the officer recognized Brown’s camouflage van at a business on West Highway 28 and knew Brown to have outstanding warrants.

The officer noted that he made contact with Brown inside the business where he was playing on a video gambling machine and while escorting him outside, he observed Brown remove a bag with a crystal-like substance from his pocket, so he placed him in custody.
