A final decision on holding the 2020 Gasconade Count Fair is expected June 18 when Fair Association members hold a special meeting the Exhibition Hall at Memorial Park in Owensville.
The Fair Association’s president, Nick Baxter, said Tuesday they are anticipating another announcement sometime on or around Monday, June 15, from Gov. Mike Parson on the next phase of his reopening Missouri plan. Parson late last month extended the social distancing policy until June 15, prompting the association to table a final decision until this month.
Baxter said directors of area emergency services providers who participate in the fair are being invited to the meeting to obtain their input. Baxter said he is inviting the sheriff, city marshal, 911 manager, ambulance district directors, fire chiefs, and county commission members.
“We’re trying to get everyone on board,” said Baxter. “We’re trying to get everyone’s input who will be involved.”
