‘Dunk a Cop’ raises $4,250

Posted

Members of the Owensville Police Department raised $4,250 with their “Dunk A Cop” dunking booth in July at Walmart. City Marshal Robert Rickerd (above, on left) and patrolmen Josh Smith and Brenn Finley, the R-2 School District’s resource officer, presented the funds to R-2 Superintendent Dr. Chuck Garner and Samantha Mangrum and Liz Bruemmer, family school liaisons for the district. These funds will be used to help offset costs for reduced-price lunches for R-2 students. Garner said fluctuations in family income can affect student eligibility for the free and reduced-price meals. Smith (left) and Rickerd (right) are shown dunked in the tank.
