OWENSVILLE — Keely Uthlaut’s Hermann Lady Bearcat and Bearcat cross country runners got a taste of what to expect for the annual Four Rivers Conference (FRC) cross country meet during last Tuesday’s Owensville Invitational hosted by Owensville High School.
Led by Cecilia Shepard’s seventh-place time of 22:40.60, Hermann harriers headed back north with eight medals between last Tuesday’s five races from Owensville.
Joining Shepard in the medals for Hermann’s varsity Lady Bearcats were Alaina Heaney (18th, 24:10.57), Lorena Uthlaut (20th, 24:16.73) and Elaina Uthlaut (21st, 24:19.25).
Also helping the blue and white place third among varsity girls teams with 75 points were Fynnlee Riffle (27th, 24:52.63), Eileen Swofford (28th, 24:52.91), Jocelyn Neill (32nd, 25:17.53), Lillian Vogelsang (34th, 25:47.72), Makenna Witthaus (38th, 26:10.13), Grace Engemann (47th, 26:45.15) and Addison Hopper (66th, 30:47.69).
Hermann’s varsity Bearcats placed second as a team with 75 points behind Owensville (58) paced by the duo of Nathan Menke (10th, 18:23.74) and Ryker Ash (13th, 18:45.15) who earned medals for their top-15 finishes.
Fellow varsity Bearcats crossing the finish line at Owensville were Eric Chorley (17th, 18:57.57), Chase Branson (22nd, 19:22.90), CJ Mires (30th, 20:26.27), Colin Nunnally (55th, 22:09.62) and Holden Schales (59th, 23:00.57).
Hermann’s JV Bearcats also placed third as a team with 63 points led by medalists Aiden Branson (6th, 21:59.86) and Jackson Engemann (8th, 22:28.40).
Also helping the JV blue and white place third in the team standings were Ethan Helmig (16th, 23:11.84), Andrew Calvert (23rd, 24:07.65), James Leavy (25th, 24:08.75), Levi Traub (48th, 33:03.11) and Hunter Englert (50th, 34:15.96).
Hermann’s Middle School Bearcats placed sixth as a team with 136 points led by Matthew Talent’s 25th-place time of 14:23.95.
Fellow HMS Bearcats across the finish line after Talent were Laramie Bristow (26th, 14:26.06), Wade Lane (31st, 14:46.23), Mason Roche (38th, 15:16.43), Henry Lindahl (42nd, 15:30.28), Lane Bristow (50th, 15:49.62), Teagan Rucker (69th, 16:42.40), Ivan Rudzinski (78th, 17:49.94), Caleb Pohlmann (81st, 18:01.37), Kayden Brinker (87th, 18:45.32) and William Traub (105th, 20:38.96).
Leading HMS’ Lady Bearcats to a fifth-place team finish with 128 points was Kennedy Schwenk with a 17th-place time of 16:00.75.
HMS Lady Bearcats across the finish line after Schwenk were Kylee Schweighauser (29th, 18:06.64), Sidney Heldt (38th, 19:19.74), Jenna Fredrick (39th, 19:21.75), Ellison Calvert (40th, 19:24.64), Olivia Waechter (43rd, 20:04.86), Kylie VandeVoorde (45th, 20:33.55), Audrey Talamante (49th, 21:32.81), Natalie Englert (58th, 23:12.02), Iris Pottebaum (59th, 24:02.63), Abigail Heisel (60th, 24:05.88), Kyah Humphrey (62nd, 25:45.64), Lillian Luckett (63rd, 25:55.10) and EllaGrace Carr (66th, 27:48.77).
Hermann harriers competed yesterday (Tuesday) in the annual Four Rivers Conference (FRC) Cross Country meet at Owensville and HHS will run in the MSHSAA Class 2, District 3 Meet at Linn on Saturday Nov. 1.
