The Gasconade County R-2 School District reported Dec. 9 that two candidates have filed to retain their Board of Education seats. Board President Glenn Ely filed at 8:01 a.m. and member Jason Crowe filed at 11:25 a.m. on Tuesday. The third member up for re-election is Jean Baker.
“Offices are open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. for filing,” said Superintendent Dr. Jeri Kay Hardy. “We are closed weekends and then Monday, Dec. 22 through the 29 (for the holidays), but we are open again on Dec. 30 from 3 to 5 p.m. for filing.”

The Bland Board of Aldermen has three at-large seats open in the upcoming April 7, 2026, municipal election.
Mayor Merrilee Spurgeon, whose seat will be open for a two-year term, said two aldermen at-large positions, each with a two-year term, and an alderman at-large position with a one-year term will be on the ballot.
Alderman Shari Morgan has filed to retain her seat and Spurgeon has declared her intentions to file, but had not done so by The Republican’s deadline. Spurgeon has picked up a candidate’s packet but had not turned it back in as of deadline Tuesday.
In Owensville, incumbent Dr. Cathy Lahmeyer, a Ward 1 Alderman and president of the Board of Aldermen, signed up Tuesday afternoon as did Ward 2 Alderman Denise Bohl and City Marshal Scott Griffith. Mayor Kevin McFadden is also up for election but was unable to sign up Tuesday.
