According to Gasconade County Sherrif's Captain Mark A. Williams, on Tuesday, Jan. 28, 2020, at 12:45 p.m. a 911 call was received by Gasconade County Central Communications indicating that a 15-month-old child was in Cardiac Arrest in the 1100 Block of Wein Street in Hermann, Mo.
Hermann Police and Hermann Ambulance responded to the scene and found the child unresponsive. Attempts to revive the child were unsuccessful.
Shortly thereafter it was determined that the address in question was in Gasconade County rather than the city of Hermann. The Gasconade County Sheriff's Office later took over the investigation with assistance from the Missouri State Technical Assistance Team (STAT) and the Gasconade County Coroner.
As a matter of routine, an autopsy will be performed by the Boone County Medical Examiner's Office in Columbia. The autopsy is scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 30, 2020. Out of respect for the family, the child's name is being withheld. No further information will be released until the investigation is completed.
