A Hermann mother was charged Dec. 31, 2025, with second degree child endangerment following a report filed by the Hermann Police Department (HPD) on Oct. 9 of the same year alleging the woman’s child was found outside while she was asleep.
According to the probable cause statement, at approximately 9:49 a.m. HPD was dispatched to a location within city limits and met by a witness who reported finding a child standing in the Subway parking lots near the roadway with a wet diaper, long sleeve shirt and no pants. GCSO reported that the witness informed them that they were unable to get anyone to the door and that the officer also could not get anyone to the door so they entered the residence to check on her in concern for her safety. The mother reportedly was located asleep in the bedroom and did not wake up to officers announcing their presence but finally woke up once an officer hit the headboard on the bed. She allegedly did not know that the child had been outside or for how long.
With no prior criminal history, a summons was requested on the matter. No hearing or trial information was available at press time.
