America’s immigration system isn’t broken because of migrants — it’s broken because of a government that’s gotten way too comfortable abusing its power. ICE is now yanking people off the street who were actually following the immigration rules, treating lawful residents like criminals just to boost their numbers. That’s not enforcement — that’s state-sanctioned kidnapping.
We’re blowing billions terrorizing families who were doing everything right, instead of fixing the system so it works. Biden’s border policies needed tightening, sure—but what we’re seeing now isn’t “correction,” it’s overreach. When ICE runs out of vulnerable people to target, this administration seems more than willing to aim its taxpayer-funded muscle at anyone who doesn’t toe the political line. And here’s what too many of your readers are missing: sooner or later, that dragnet will sweep up plenty of them, too.
This isn’t about politics anymore. It’s about who we are as a country.
