Jeanie Dudenhoeffer, 84, Bonnots Mill, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Sept. 24, 2026, at Stonebridge Westphalia.
She was born on Aug. 15, 1942, to the late Joseph and Mary (Grefrath) Haslag in Henley.
She attended schools at Immaculate Conception in Loose Creek, St. George and Linn High School in Linn.
Jeanie was united in marriage to Wilfred “Willie” Dudenhoeffer on July 22, 1961, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Loose Creek.
She was a homemaker and a childcare provider in their home for 31 years. Jeanie loved children and spent as much time as possible with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren as well as the many little ones who were left in her care.
She also loved spending time outdoors gardening and caring for her lawn and flowers. Her spare time was spent writing letters to her many pen pals across the United States and England.
Jeanie was preceded in death by husband of 55 years, Wilfred; parents, Joseph and Mary; brothers, Raymond Haslag and James Haslag; brother-in-law, Jack Peters; and niece, Darla (Nichols) Peters.
She is survived by son, Steve Dudenhoeffer of Bonnots Mill; daughter, Carol Davenport and husband Karl of Wardsville; grandchildren, Amy Wilbers and husband Chris of Loose Creek, Christa Thoenen and husband Bear of Frankenstein, Jacob Dudenhoeffer and wife Brittanie of Loose Creek and Courtney Buschjost and husband Garrett of Wardsville; great-grandchildren, Addyson, Maci and Kynlee Wilbers, Braden, Jacie and Landon Thoenen, Gibson Dudenhoeffer with baby Dudenhoeffer due in February and Rhett, Eli and Tenley Buschjost; sisters, Lucy Peters of Linn, Kathy Kraus and husband Charlie of Springfield and Darlene Schnack and husband John of Springfield; brothers, John Haslag of Loose Creek and Roger Haslag and wife Margie of Taos; along with many nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be held from 9 until 11 a.m., (today) Wednesday, Sept. 30, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Louis of France Catholic Church in Bonnots Mill, with Rev. Anthony Rinaldo officiating.
Inurnment will be held in St. Louis of France Parish Cemetery in Bonnots Mill.
Memorial contributions suggested to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or St. Louis of France Cemetery Fund.
