Owensville High School Dutch Divas dance team members entertained the Downtown Owensville Christmas Parade crowd Friday which included a visit by firetruck from Santa, Gasconade County Fair royalty including queen Megan Schneider and Little Miss and Mr. Gasconade County Bella Daniels and Owen Steinbeck, and performances by the Owensville Elementary School choir students under the direction of Erin Sassmann. First Bank’s float in the parade of lights included walkers wearing peppermint swirls and candy canes. Woollam 4-H Club recreated the classic “Cousin Eddie” RV waste disposal scene from National Lampoon’s “Christmas Vacation” using — we believe — a bucket of regular water. Erin Cole turns around on her bicycle as one of her students yells out “Merry Christmas Mrs. Cole.” She works with preschool children at the elementary school. Owensville Fire Department volunteers dropped prize “snowflakes” to children.
