Missouri State Highway Patrol’s reports Owensville crashes

An 82-year-old man from Bland sustained minor injuries Oct. 14 when he reportedly had a medical episode and drove off of Highway 28 west of Owensville.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s report of the incident at 12:25 p.m., the man was driving a 2018 Toyota Camry west on 28 when he suffered the medical emergency and drove off the right side of the road and struck two trees. He was transported by Owensville Area Ambulance District personnel to Mercy Washington for treatment.

The car had extensive damage and was removed by Triple L Towing of Owensville. He was wearing his seat belt, according to the MSHP report.

Later that afternoon, a 3:45 p.m., a Hermann woman, 69, received minor injuries in a three-vehicle crash in Franklin County at Route A and BB.

According to the Troop C MSHP report, the Hermann woman was the driver of a 2025 Chevrolet Trailblazer traveling eastbound which was stopped on Route BB. A 2018 Nissan Versa was stopped on Route A. The third vehicle, a 2009 GMC Sierra was heading north on Route A. The Hermann woman failed to yield to the southbound Nissan Versa and traveled onto Route A where the front of her vehicle struck the right side of the Versa. The Versa’s driver, a 33-year-old man from Washington, rotated across the center line and the driver’s side of the Versa struck the front left of the Sierra which was driven by a 32-year-old Washington woman.

All three drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP report. All three vehicles were removed from the scene by Patriot Towing and Sturm’s Towing.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Crawford County reports two recent arrests of motorists allegedly driving while intoxicated.

At 10:06 pm Oct. 14, the MSHP arrested Beryl D. Downey, 59, Bourbon, on allegations of felony DWI as a habitual offender. He was placed on a 24-hour hold at the Crawford County Jail in Steelville.

At 3:47 p.m. Oct. 19, the MSHP arrested Jeremie L. Crocker, 39, Steelville, on allegations of felony DWI as a habitual offender and felony driving while revoked. He was arrested and released, according to the report.

Two Crawford County residents were injured in separate crashes reported this past week by the MSHP in Troop I.

An 18-year-old girl from Steelville received minor injuries at 11:55 p.m. Oct. 18 when, while eastbound on Highway 8 in a 2005 Pontiac Sunfire, she failed to negotiate a curve, went off the left side of the road, and overturned. She was transported by Steelville ambulance to Missouri Baptist in Sullivan for treatment.

The crash occurred west of Steelville and Miles and Sons Towing removed the heavily damaged car. She was wearing a seat belt, according to the MSHP report from Troop I Trooper M.T. Baird.

At 7:50 a.m. Oct. 15, a 33-year-old Bourbon man received minor injuries when the 2022 Dodge Ram pickup westbound truck he was a passenger in went off the right side of the road and overturned near the 4000 block of Route JJ. He was transported by Crawford County Ambulance District personnel for treatment at Missouri Baptist in Sullivan. Chris and Sons Towing removed the vehicle from the scene. The truck had moderate damage, according to the report. The driver of the truck was listed as a 30-year-old Bourbon woman. She was not wearing a seat belt, according to the report by Trooper A.M. Cunningham.
