Missourian All-Area honors

With the recent release of the Washington Missourian All-Area Football Team, Gasconade County saw themselves well represented not only on that team but also the Missourian All-Area Softball and Volleyball teams.

On the gridiron, Hermann quarterback Trent Lampkin was voted as First-Team quarterback while Owensville signal caller Blake Elliott was an honorable mention selection.

At running back, Hermann’s Caden Humphrey was a honorable mention nod.

Three countywide receivers earned spots on the first and third teams.

Taking two of the three first-team selections were Owensville’s Tanner Meyer and Hermann’s Nolan Brune.

Hermann’s Nolan Mercier was also one of three third-team wide receiver selections.

Bearcat tight end Daeden Hopkins was a first-team honoree at tight end.

On the offensive line, two county lineman earned All-Area second-team accolades in Hermann’s Brady Grosse and Owensville’s Hayden Shoemaker.

Hermann’s duo of Khale McFadden and Talen Levkovsky also earn honorable mention status on the offensive line.

Adding to his first-team tight end selection, Hopkins also represented the Bearcats as a first-team defensive lineman.

Shoemaker was also a second-team defensive lineman for the Dutchmen while Hermann’s Eric Williams earned a third-team nod on the defensive line.

Earning offensive accolades on the line, Grosse was the leading vote-getter among linebackers earning him a first-team nod.

Dutchmen junior Jaden Gerlemann was also named to the Missourian All-Area Second Team at linebacker.

Collecting honorable mention status at linebacker was Owensville’s Logan Bailey and Humphrey from Hermann.

Already a first-team pick at wide receiver, Brune earned one on defense as a first-team defensive back.

Owensville’s Isaiah Gates picked up a third-team selection at defensive back while Mercier was a honorable mention selection for the Bearcats as a defensive back.

Johannes Berg earned a third-team selection at kicker for the Dutchmen while Brune completed the offense, defense and special teams trifecta with a honorable mention selection for the Bearcats.

Berg was also a third-team punter while Hopkins collected a honorable mention nod.

Meyer was also named a first-team returner/specialist to go along with his first-team selection at wide receiver.

Helping Hermann to a share of their first Four Rivers Conference (FRC) title in over two decades, first-year Bearcat head football coach Jed Leeper was fifth in coach of the year voting.

Lampkin took third place in offensive player of the year voting while Brune also received a vote for the Bearcats.

Defensive Player of the Year voting also saw Grosse, Brune and Gerlemann each receive one vote among Gasconade County football players.

Meyer was runner-up for Special Teams Player of the Year behind Borgia’s Adam Rickman while Berg and Brune each also received votes.

On the volleyball court, Hilary Hays’ Hermann Lady Bearcats and Jamie Ridenhour’s Owensville Dutchgirls were well represented on their Missourian All-Area Team.

Among middle hitters, Hermann’s Jill Rood was a third-team selection while Ashlyn Hughes also garnered a honorable mention nod for the Lady Bearcats.

Hermann’s Sydney Schulte was one of four first-team selections as an outside hitter while Dutchgirl senior McKenzy Echols was a third-team pick at outside hitter.

Breckyn Koeller led all vote-getters among setters to earn a first-team nod for Hermann while Dutchgirl senior Ally Gooch was a honorable mention selection at setter.

Among liberos, Hermann’s Kennedie Witthaus was a first-team selection while Dutchgirl senior McKenna Edwards was a third-team pick.

Koeller also finished three points behind Union’s Sophia Helling in Player of the Year voting.

Hays was also second in Coach of the Year voting behind Pacific’s Joe Brammeier.

Missourian All-Area softball voting saw a number of Dutchgirls and Lady Bearcats earn recognition.

Owensville’s Hannah Keeney was one of three area pitchers to garner honorable mention status.

On the infield, Owensville’s Emma Daniels and Hermann’s Sheilah Dodorico were both third-team infield selections.

Also collecting honorable mention nods in the infield were Owensville’s Kate Blankenship and Hermann’s Kimber Hale.

In the outfield, Owensville’s Bailee Dare was a second-team selection while Hermann’s Molly Scheer picked up a third-team nod.

Dodorico also received votes for Player of the Year won by Washington pitcher Taylor Brown.
