The crash occurred at approximately 3:45 p.m. when a 2017 GMC Terrain was traveling westbound on U.S. 50 as a 2026 Freightliner Cascadia was traveling eastbound. According to the patrol, the Freightliner, driven by a 56-year-old Jefferson City man, attempted to make a left turn onto Missouri 19 north, failed to yield to the oncoming GMC and was struck on the front passenger side.
The 23-year-old female driver of the GMC, from Linn, sustained minor injuries and was transported by Gerald ambulance to Capital Region Medical Center.
