OWENSVILLE —Ethan James Huff of Owensville has been charged with two counts of the class E felony alleging third-degree assault and one count of the class A misdemeanor resisting or interfering with an arrest, detention or stop following an interaction Saturday with the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).
According to the probable cause statement, GCSO arrived on scene to a reported fight in progress and witnessed Huff pushing another man into the side of a pickup truck. The officer stated Huff pushed him and responded with profanity to stop the attempt to detain him before being placed on the ground and in handcuffs. Huff was then placed in the caged portion of the vehicle where he reportedly became agitated and began banging his legs, arms and head against the bars in the patrol vehicle.
Another woman reportedly said that Huff had been fighting all night and had put his hands around her neck, choking her.
Huff was taken into custody the same day and a warrant was issued and served Monday with bond set in the amount of $5,000 cash or surety. He was taken to Franklin County Detention Center in Union where he remained until Monday.
Arraignment has been scheduled for today (Wednesday), at 9 a.m. before Gasconade County Associate Circuit Judge Ada Brehe-Krueger in the Division 4 courtroom in Hermann.
