PSB Bank, formerly People’s Savings Bank, has once again stepped forward to support youth civic education in Gasconade County.
Amanda Korman, representing People’s Savings Bank, recently presented a cash donation to Nancy Stephan with the University of Missouri Gasconade County Extension. Students from St. George Catholic School, Tanner Grotewiel, Grady Korman, Nadia Davis, and Nevaeh Davis, joined in with Stephan for the presentation.
The donation will help cover the cost of food and supplies for the 2026 Gasconade County Government Day, scheduled for March 11 at the Gasconade County Courthouse. Students from Gasconade County R-1, Gasconade County R-2, and St. George Catholic School will participate in the full-day event.
Government Day provides students with a unique, hands on look at how local government operates. Participants will have the opportunity to sit in the gallery during live court proceedings with Judge Ada BreheKruger, tour county government offices, and visit with elected officials throughout the day.
County officials consistently express how much they enjoy meeting students, answering questions, and helping them connect classroom learning to realworld government processes. Many participating students are studying government this time of year, making the experience especially meaningful and relevant.
“Students are our future leaders,” said Stephan. “Government Day is an important opportunity for them to meet local officials, better understand how county government works, and see firsthand how leadership and service shape our community.”
The event is planned and coordinated by the Gasconade County Extension office as part of its ongoing youth programs. For more information about Government Day or to make a donation in support of the event, community members may contact the Gasconade County Extension office at 573-266-2701.
