JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri’s Public Service Commission set Dec. 12 as the intervention deadline for a certificate of need and necessity (CCN) requested by Union Electric Company (Ameren Missouri) to construct a 28-mile electric transmission line across Montgomery and Callaway counties.
On Nov. 10, Ameren Missouri filed an application for a CCN authorizing it to construct, install, own, operate, control, manage, and maintain approximately 28 miles of 345 kilovolt (kV) transmission line and associated facilities to connect the Burns substation in Callaway County to the Montgomery substation in Montgomery County. Ameren Missouri states the transmission line is necessary to connect the Grain Belt Express LLC’s Tiger Connector transmission line to the Burns substation, thereby fulfilling Ameren Missouri’s obligation to facilitate the interconnection of the interstate transmission line into the existing transmission system. Ameren Missouri asks that the Commission issue an order no later than June 2026.
Applications to intervene and participate in this case must be filed with the Secretary of the Missouri Public Service Commission, P.O. Box 360, Jefferson City, Mo. 65102-0360, or by using the Commission’s Electronic Filing and Information System (EFIS) at psc.mo.gov.
