R-2 directors hire teachers, support staff for 2024-25 school year, accept resignations

In a closed session Monday, Gasconade County R-2 School District’s Board of Education approved numerous staff hirings and transfers for the 2024-25 school year.

Following an hour-long discussion, R-2 directors reconvened open session and voted publicly on staffing including resignations.

Effective at the end of the current school year, directors approved resignations from Jenee LeStarge, OES third-grade teacher, Kaitlyn Joseph, OES kindergarten teacher, Jodi Milanowski, OES paraprofessional, and Tinya McClure, eighth grade girls basketball coach.

Directors also voted to release Zachary Teems, eighth-grade teacher and assistant softball coach, from his 2024-25 contract, pending all fees are paid and paperwork completed.

Directors also accepted a resignation letter from long-time administrative staff member Nancy Landwehr, who retires as director of business operations effective June 30.

Directors approved the following lists, by school building, of classified staff being offered new contracts:

Directors approved Tammy Daniel as evening school administrator with staff including Amy Aubuchon, Amy Quertermous, Donna Hinson, Sara Whelan, and substitute Crystal Ely for the 2024-25 school year. Glenn Ely, board president, abstained from voting on hiring or appointments of his wife.
