Gasconade County Sheriff’s deputies and the Lake Area Narcotics Enforcement Group (LANEG) served a drug-related search warrant June 13 in the 300 block of Main Street in Bland, seizing approximately 2.5 pounds of a substance believed to be crystal meth.

“During the course of the investigation approximately seventy (70) grams of a crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine, two (2) grams of marijuana, multiple items of drug paraphernalia related to the consumption and distribution of controlled substances and one (1) firearm were located and seized,” according to a report from Sheriff John Romanus.

A male subject from Bland was detained and then released pending the filing of formal charges for distribution of a controlled substance, according to the report. Amber Garner of Bland was taken into custody for an outstanding traffic warrant.

On June 15, deputies responded to the 3900 block of Cleavesville Road for a report of a theft from a vehicle. The reporting party advised that person(s) unknown had illegally entered two vehicles but nothing was reported stolen.

On June 13, deputies responded to Oak Hill Road for a report of an abandoned trailer. The trailer was a 10-foot Diamond C trailer.  As of late Tuesday morning the owner has not been determined.

Also on June 13, deputies responded to the 2200 block of Route ZZ north of Owensville for a reported animal bite. The reporting party advised that her child had been bitten by a dog. Deputies verified that the dog’s vaccinations were up to date and the owner was advised to quarantine the dog for 10 days.

On June 10, the sheriff’s office received a phone call that “an identified individual had been committing stealing and financial abuse of the elderly.” The investigation continues, the sheriff reports.
