Taste of Hermann to aid community’s food pantry

HERMANN – In Hermann, food and wine have always been about more than what’s on the plate or in a glass. It’s a shared experience. It’s about gathering around the table, supporting local businesses, and taking care of neighbors. That spirit is front and center during “Taste of Hermann,”a new communitywide event, where enjoying a delicious drink or scrumptious meal also means giving back.

From March 5–15, participating restaurants, wineries, breweries and specialty food shops are offering featured menu items, with a portion of proceeds benefiting the Hermann Community Food Pantry.

“Each bite, sip and sweet treat helps support local families facing food insecurity, turning a night out with your family or friends into something even more meaningful,” said Tammy Bruckerhoff, Hermann’s director of tourism and economic development. “Whether you’re a visitor exploring Hermann’s culinary scene or a local looking for an excuse to dine out, “taste of Hermann” invites you to enjoy the flavors you love while supporting a cause that truly matters to our community.”

The lineup of offerings reflects the diversity of Hermann’s cuisine. Start the day with breakfast, enjoy lunch, linger over a relaxed dinner, or stop in for dessert and a handcrafted drink. Participating businesses are featuring everything from savory comfort foods to decadent desserts, curated cheese boards, handcrafted cocktails, wine and even take-home items like bread mixes—perfect for extending the ‘Taste of Hermann” experience beyond a single visit.

With more than 20 businesses participating, the best way to plan a tasting tour is to explore the full list of participating businesses and menu offerings. For a complete list of participating businesses, go to www.VisitHermann.com/taste-of-hermann.

The Hermann Community Food Pantry supports families throughout the Gasconade County R-1 School District. Every month, food boxes are distributed at the Hermann Community Food Pantry, which is located in City Hall, 1902 Jefferson St. There is also a smaller kid-friendly Food Pantry at the Hermann Middle School.

“Taste of Hermann” is a simple action with a powerful impact: Dine out for a good cause and help strengthen the community. For more information about the Hermann Community Food Pantry, contact Bartow Molloy at 314-378-3387 or bartowmolloy@icloud.com.
