Two area women have been charged in felony warrants with the theft of cash and a cash-to-coin exchange machine on April 28 from the Half “Assed” Bar in Bland.
According to a release from Gasconade Count Sheriff Scott Eiler’s office, deputies determined the business safe had been accessed, a cash-to-coin exchange machine had been stolen, and approximately $3,600 in cash and coins had been taken from the business.
Charged May 2 in connection with the thefts which occurred after 2 a.m. April 28 was Shayla M. Harmon, rural Owensville. Charged May 3 was Danielle A. (Strobel) Henderson, of Gerald.
According to Eiler, deputies reviewed surveillance videos from the business and nearby security cameras. Both of the women entered the bar wearing face coverings and gloves, according to the probable cause statement filed as the application for felony charges. Along with witness statements, deputies identified possible suspects connected to the burglary.
On May 1, deputies executed a search warrant in the 1800 block of Bem Church Road, south of Owensville, where they located and seized evidence connected to the burglary. Harmon was taken into custody and transported to the Franklin County Adult Detention Center, pending formal charges.
On May 2, Associate Circuit Judge Ada Brehe-Krueger issued a $15,000 surety bond for Harmon, charging her with second-degree burglary and stealing $750 or more,
Brehe-Krueger also issued a $10,000 surety bond for Danielle A. (Strobel) Henderson, of Gerald, charging her with stealing $750 or more. She reportedly had keys to access the bar.
Deputies located Henderson at the Rosebud General Store on May 3, where she was taken into custody but not before resisting arrest. Deputies also seized 50 capsules of suspected Fentanyl. Henderson was transported to the Osage County Adult Detention Center on her theft warrant.
Henderson was charged May 3 in a felony warrant alleging second-degree drug trafficking. She was scheduled to be arraigned at 9 a.m. today (Wednesday) before Brehe-Krueger. A $20,000 cash-only bond was assigned to the warrant on the drug charge.
The stolen cash-to-coin exchange machine was recovered May 4, according to Eiler’s report.
“I’d like to recognize the deputies and detective involved in this investigation for their dedication, long hours, and teamwork,” said Eiler in the release. “Their efforts were instrumental in identifying the suspects, recovering evidence, and bringing this investigation together. Outstanding work by everyone involved.”
