Those that finished in the top four of their respective events for Owensville High School during last weekend’s Missouri State High School Activities Association (MSHSAA) Class 3, District 5 track meet at West Plains High School will be looking to do the same during one of four Class 3 sectional meets this Saturday at Hollister High School located south of Branson just north of the Arkansas state line.

A top-four finish this Saturday will book any Dutchmen and Dutchgirl track athletes to the MSHSAA Class 3 State Track and Field Championships over Memorial Day weekend at Jefferson City High School’s Adkins Stadium and Licklider Track.

Owensville’s one-two punch of Emma Daniels and Saylor Richardson both qualified in the 100 and 200-meter dashes.

Daniels appears to be in good shape with the third-fastest time in both events entering sectionals.

Richardson goes into sectionals seventh in the 100m and eighth in the 200m dash. However, she is a half-second from the top four in both events.

Freshman Ilene Limberg has put herself in prime position to become a qualifier in state track to go along with her state appearance in cross country last fall.

She currently has the second-fastest times in both the 1600m and 3200m runs.

All Four Dutchgirl relay teams range anywhere from second to sixth place in their respective races.

Ella Gehlert sits tied for seventh in the girls high jump while freshman Jenna Vandegriffe is in a three-way tie for fifth place in the girls pole vault entering sectionals.

Meike Bakker currently sits fifth in the shot put and eighth in the girls long jump.

Candrl’s Dutchmen are led by Gabe Soest who has the fastest time in the boys 800m run while Jacob Breedlove has the second-best time in the 400m dash.

Tanner Meyer sits sixth in the 400m dash about a second from fourth place.

Bryce Payne is currently second in both the 110m and 300m hurdles while the Dutchmen 4x400m relay team also has the fastest time.
