Douglas Jackson Bomback, 56, of Owensville was charged Sunday, March 8, with the class E felony alleging failure to register as a sex offender following a report by the Gasconade County Sheriff’s Office (GCSO).
GCSO reported encountering Bomback during a March 7 traffic stop on a white Chevrolet SUV with an inoperable front passenger-side headlight. Bomback was the driver of the vehicle and was arrested for driving while revoked.
During the arrest and booking process, GCSO reported discovering that Bomback had active social media accounts on his cell phone including Facebook and BIGO Live. GCSO noted Bomback had no email addresses or social media accounts listed on his MULES/NCIC or Missouri State Highway Patrol Sex Offender Registry.
According to GCSO, Bomback is a Tier III sex offender who was convicted in 1988 for rape involving a 14-year old female. He is required to update his sex offender registry every 90 days and report all email addresses and social media accounts he uses. The officer further stated that Bomback has been identified as a violent offender by the State of Missouri and was previously charged with failing to register as a sex offender.
A $10,000 cash only bond was noted in the warrant.
