Actions, results speak louder than words

The old saying goes, “Actions speak louder than words.” And of course it is true. You can always tell more about who someone is and what their intentions are by what they do, not what they say.

According to grammar-monster.com, the earliest account featuring “speak louder” comes from clergyman Thomas Manton’s “Book of Sermons,” published in 1693: “So they would give him Glory, praise him with their Lips, and honor him with their Lives. They would make that their Work and Scope, that this may be the real Language of their Hearts and Actions, which speak much louder than Words.”

On Friday, Bill Maher on “Real Time with Bill Maher” offered some examples. “Did you know that a Black fourth grader in Mississippi is two and a half times as likely to be proficient in math and reading as one in California?” Maher said.

When it comes to reading, the Golden State ranks 37th, and Mississippi ranks 9th.

Covering a favorite talking point of Democrats,  the environment, Maher said, “Texas has passed California in solar and blows away California when it comes to wind and energy storage. How does a state with no pro-climate policies produce better climate results than a state where here, even though we have so much better bumper stickers on our Priuses?”

It appears that the Democrat run state of California gives lip service to education, race and the environment, while other states, controlled by Republicans, get results.

In August 2025, President Donald Trump sent the National Guard into Washington, D.C. to clean up the city. Democrats screamed. The results: In the first four months of 2026, homicides were down 52 percent, sex abuse was down 48 percent, robbery was down 23 percent, and motor vehicle theft was down 56 percent.

Our nation’s capital is on pace for 42 murders in 2026. Two years ago, it had 274 homicides.

Let’s go back further. Even before Trump took office, he founded a group called DOGE to investigate and reduce wasteful government spending.

Democrats on Capitol Hill screamed like a stuck pig. They filed lawsuits to stop it. Democrats rallied, and some set fire to Tesla car dealerships because of Elon Musk’s involvement.

Here is just one result from those actions: The federal workforce is now at its smallest since 1966. Because of DOGE 352,000 Federal employees have been fired, resigned, or retired and were not replaced.

Figuring a minimal cost of employment at 75,000 per year — and that is very conservative — that would mean a savings of over $26 billion a year.

Under Trump’s leadership and FBI Director Kash Patel, America’s top law enforcement agency is cutting down on scams and fraud.

Just last week, the FBI said it seized a record-setting $8 billion in cryptocurrency from international scammers and organized crime. The FBI raided and shut down “scam compounds” in Myanmar, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.

“The FBI has been leading the charge, from taking down Prince Group in Cambodia to Operation Sand Dollar in Dubai. We helped free nearly 2,000 trafficked workers, shut down more than $8 billion in scam center fraud, and arrested nearly 300 people,” Patel said.

You don’t have to go overseas or to Minnesota to find fraud. In a short week in April, the Department of Justice (DOJ) announced it had taken enforcement action against fraud schemes totaling over $340 million in California, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Missouri.

In Clayton, a Chiropractor was found guilty of fraud, sentenced to eight years in prison, and ordered to repay $4.7 million to Medicaid, Medicare, and Tricare.

In Texas, according to the DOJ, “a 62-year-old Mexican national illegally residing in Houston has admitted to theft of government funds and aggravated identity theft…she submitted immigration petitions on behalf of family members and obtained disability and Medicare benefits.”

Also in April, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. announced that the federal government had shut down 500 hospices operating fraudulently in Los Angeles.

In one of the most blatant examples of using words, not actions, President Joe Biden, during his term, said he was doing everything possible to stop illegal immigration on our southern border. Trump did more than talk. He stopped it.

Trump is a man of actions, not words. That is why so many Democrats have come down with Trump Derangement Syndrome.
