Smoke billows Monday afternoon from an old silo on the David York property off Route EE. A tree stump behind the barn, reportedly struck by lightning several days ago, apparently ignited due to windy conditions, burning 20-plus acres of grass and woodland brush on the York property and a neighbor’s wooded acreage. Firemen from Belle, Bland, Gerald-Rosebud, Hermann, and Sullivan assisted Owensville.
