At their regular meeting last Thursday, city officials decided to not pursue a Recreational Trail Program (RTP) grant in this grant cycle. They cited not having enough time to gather the required documentation.
Mayor Corey Novotney stressed this does not mean the city will not proceed with seeking grants. Instead the city will immediately begin getting things ready for the next round of grants which open next fall. Ward 2 Alderman Dean Isgrigg is already researching professional grant writers the city could hire.
Novotney said the city will be looking at grants for many projects to advance their agenda.
