Dennis R. Green

Dennis R. Green was born on March 12, 1948 in Cherryville, Missouri to Glen and Jessie (nee Nichol) Green and passed away Friday, September 18, 2026 at the age of 78 years.

Denny or Den, as he was known to friends and family, grew up and spent majority of his life in the City of St. Louis where he worked, attended many baseball and hockey games and raised his family.

Earning his bachelor's degree in mathematics from Southeast Missouri State University, he was a proud member of Tau Kappa Epsilon, where he made lifelong friends.

During his college years he met Vivian LaBorde on a blind date. They later married.

He went on to earn his master's plus 30 in mathematics from Webster University. He spent his career working for the St. Louis City Public Schools, most well known for being a math teacher and eventually the head of the math department at Northwest High School. Later in his career, he transitioned into administration first at Northwest High School and eventually at Central Visual Performing Arts High School until retirement.

He enjoyed watching sports, crossword puzzles, sudoku, and reading Stephen King novels and was a trivia buff.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Kim Green and Kevin Green; and grandson, Nathan Blecha.

He is survived by his wife, Vivian (nee LaBorde) Green; daughters, Shelley (Steve) Blecha and Terri (Steve) Schnyder; grandchildren, Clayton Blecha and Riley Blecha; other relatives and and friends.

Visitation was held from 3-6 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home in Arnold, Missouri.

Funeral service was held at 6 p.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026 at Heiligtag-Lang-Fendler Funeral Home in Arnold, Missouri.
