A clean audit report from July 1, 2024, through June 30, 2025, from Catlett & Associates, certified public accountants, was presented on Nov. 17 to the Gasconade County R-2 Board of Education.
Superintendent Dr. Jeri Kay Hardy reviewed the results.
“There were no significant audit findings, no difficulties encountered during performing the audit,” Hardy began, reading from the Nov. 3 letter from the CPA. “The professional standards, there were no problems with those. Under disagreement with management, there were no problems. It says you have a right to consult with other independent accountants.”
The two-page letter outlines the CPA’s responsibility to the district.
“We have audited the financial statements of the governmental activities and each major fund of the Gasconade County R-2 School District,” the report outlined the results.
Under “qualitative aspects of accounting practices,” there were no new accounting polices adopted and the application of existing policies was not changed during the year ending July 30, 2025.
“We noted no transactions entered into by the governmental unit during the year for which there is a lack of authoritative guidance or consensus. All significant transactions have been recognized in the financial statements in the proper period,” the report acknowledges.
Under “difficulties encountered in the performing audit,” the letter outlined, “We encountered no difficulties in dealing with management in performing and completing our audit.”
There were no notes regarding correct or corrected misstatements, disagreements with management or management representations.
“ There were no other significant audit findings or issues, and so our audit is complete,” Hardy said.
The board approved the audit report with a 6-0 vote.
The audit comes as the district’s staff and students are entering the final three days of classes for the month of November. R-2 schools are not in session Monday, Nov. 24, through Friday, Nov. 28, for a Thanksgiving break.
